This policy explains what personal information Rodi Restaurant collects, why, how we look after it and the choices you have. We keep it short and in plain English.

What we collect and why
Table bookings. When you book online we collect your name, phone number, email address, the date, time and number of guests, and anything you tell us in the comments box. We use this to manage your booking, to send your confirmation and a reminder before your visit, and to contact you if something changes. If you start a booking but do not finish it, we may send you one reminder email about it. We will not send you another.
Allergies and dietary needs. If you tell us about an allergy or intolerance, we use it only to prepare your meal safely, and we share it only with our team.
Event enquiries, gift vouchers and contact messages. When you use a form on our website, we collect the details you enter (such as your name, phone, email and message) so we can reply to you, plan your event or prepare your gift voucher.
Gift voucher payments. If you pay with a payment link, the payment is handled securely by our payment provider. We do not see or store your card details.
Friends of Rodi. When you create an invitation, we ask for your first name, your email and, if you like, your friend’s first name. We keep these with the invitation’s reference so we know who recommended us, and we never use them for marketing unless you have said yes. We never contact your friends: you choose who you send the link to.
Event news on your phone. If you choose “Get event news” on our What’s On page, your browser gives us a technical address so we can send you short notifications about events and news. We do not get your name, phone number or email this way. You can turn them off at any time with the same button or in your phone or browser settings.
Visitor numbers. We count visits to our website to see which pages are useful. We do this without cookies and without storing your IP address. We keep only the page, the rough area (town or country) and the type of device.
Events and offers. We only send you news about events and offers if you have ticked the box to say yes. You can stop at any time using the unsubscribe link in any email, our unsubscribe page, or by telling us.
Our legal reasons
We use your information to take and manage your booking or request (to fulfil our agreement with you), to run the restaurant safely and well (our legitimate interests), to meet our legal duties (for example, keeping financial records), and for marketing only with your consent. Information about allergies is used with your permission, and only to keep you safe.
Who we share it with
We never sell your information. We only share it with trusted companies that help us run the restaurant, and only as much as they need:
- The service we use for online bookings and booking emails
- Our website hosting and email providers
- Our payment provider, for gift voucher payments
- Google, only if you choose to open the map on our contact page
- Cloudflare, which checks that forms and bookings come from real people
- The notification service built into your browser (such as Google, Apple or Mozilla), only if you turn on event news
We may also share information if the law requires it.
How long we keep it
We keep booking and enquiry details only for as long as we need them, normally up to two years after your last visit or message, and financial records for as long as the law requires. Marketing details are kept until you unsubscribe.
Cookies
Our website uses only what it needs to work properly, such as remembering your Friends of Rodi invitation, your text size choice or a notice you have closed, on your own device. The Google map on our contact page only loads, and only sets Google’s cookies, if you click to show it. We do not use advertising cookies.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it or delete it, object to how we use it, or withdraw your consent to marketing at any time. Email us and we will reply within one month.
If you are not happy with how we have handled your information, please talk to us first. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
