Meet Rodi
A Greek welcome in Old Welwyn
Good Greek food, a bottle of wine on the table and nobody rushing you out.
Rodi is an independent Greek and Mediterranean restaurant on Church Street, in Old Welwyn village. The menu covers most of Greece, with island seafood, the grills and slow-cooked dishes of the mainland, and the odd modern touch. Come in for a quick lunch, a long dinner or a big celebration, and make yourself at home.
How it started
Friends around one table
Rodi was started by friends who love Greek food and looking after people, and who think a meal is always better shared.
That is what we wanted to bring to Welwyn. Generous cooking, and guests looked after the way we would look after our own family at home.
In a Greek home, food is for sharing, and there is always room for one more at the table.

Our name
Why Rodi?
Rodi is the Greek word for pomegranate. In Greece the pomegranate stands for abundance, good luck and a long, happy life, and on New Year’s Day many families smash one at the front door for a lucky year ahead.
For a restaurant that is all about eating together and celebrating, it seemed the right name.
