An incredibly rare wine with just one barrel produced each vintage. Deep ruby in colour, Muses Estates Mouhtaro offers a complex nose of ripe red fruits, sweet spices and notes of Mediterranean herbs. On the palate it is full-bodied, velvety and enveloping, with soft tannins and a balanced acidity that gives freshness. The very rare red grape of Mouhtaro is grown exclusively in the area of Askri, at the foot of Mt. Helicon, in Central Greece. Muses Estate was the first producer to revive this variety back from near-extinction with their first vintage in 1998. In terms of winemaking, the hand-harvested grapes were destemmed before fermentation with wild yeasts. The wine was aged in a combination of 20% new French oak barrels and 80% aged in second and third use barrels, for 12 months.

Moët et Chandon is now the leading vine-grower in Champagne, with the most extensive vineyards. Of their 1,150 hectares 50% are grands crus and 25% are premiers crus. Their cellars are located 10 to 30-meters under the chalky soil near Epernay. Moët & Chandon’s cellars are the largest within the Champagne region, spanning 28km (aprox 17.4 miles). In this legendary subterranean labyrinth, the forces of nature have come together to create a uniquely ideal setting for the metamorphosis of choice fruit into the House’s luxurious wine. Brut Imperial is an extremely accomplished assemblage of over 200 crus, creating a perfect balance of the three champagne grape varieties (30% to 40% Pinot Noir, 30% to 40% Pinot Meunier, 20% to 30% Chardonnay). The use of 20% to 30% of carefully selected reserve wines complete the assemblage and enhance its maturity, complexity and consistency.

The grapes from carefully selected plots are sorted and destemmed before vatting. Maceration , lasting from 48 to 72 hours depending on the harvest , helps in the extraction of colour and allows us to obtain unequalled aromas, revealing all the richness of the best Crus of Pinot Noir.
